Robert Emery is a multi-skilled musician, equally at home playing or conducting classical and light music. He started playing the piano at the age of seven, studied at the Royal College of Music, and since making his highly acclaimed London Debut when he was only thirteen at the Purcell Rooms, has performed all over Europe as a recitalist, and more recently as a conductor for both choral and orchestral works.
Award-winning Robert Emery has made two solo piano albums, has performed
privately to several members of the Royal Family and has given a special recital
for Members of Parliament in the historic Westminster Hall. Together with
working with some of the profession’s biggest names, including Tony Hatch,
Geoffrey Skidmore, Bob Chilcott and Sir Simon Rattle, Robert is now adding
theatre musical direction to his list of skills.
His continuing relationship with celebrity music professor Ruth Nye – who herself was taught by Claudio Arrau – means that Robert is also a teaching descendant of Liszt, Beethoven and Mozart. His other work includes composing, arranging and being the Chief Executive of The Arts Group.
