Conductor
Robert Emery studied conducting at the Royal College of Music with Neil Thomson, and since then has become experienced in both orchestral and choral conducting, classical and popular music. His classical work has taken him all over the country conducting amongst others the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, British Philharmonic, Birmingham Philharmonic, West London Orchestra and Chorus, Ad-Hoc Orchestra and Choir and the spectacularly professional New London Children's Choir. Through these groups, Robert has worked with such people as Damon Albarn, Katherine Jenkins and Lemar.
As musical direction or associate he has covered concerts and musicals including; FIVE TV’s My First Carol Concert (UK Tour), A Tale of Two Cities (Theatre Royal, Brighton) Betwixt (Ambassadors and King’s Head), Opening of St Pancras International (New London Children’s Choir), Plague Songs with Damon Albarn (Barbican), BBC Christmas Celebration (BBC TV Centre), Honk! (Trinity College of Music), Red Cross Royal Gala Ball (Mansion House), Celebrating Politics (Westminster Hall), 10 Minute Musical Challenge (Greenwich Theatre), Boorskale (Soho Theatre), And the World Goes Round, Joseph, An Evening with Rodgers and Hammerstein, Bugsy Malone, Rocky Crusades and An Evening of Musicals and Music.
Robert was also Assistant Musical Director (Rehearsals) for the West End production of Zorro, the Conductor for FIVE TV’s production of My First Carol Concert, and is an advisory chorus master to choirs nationally.
