Award-winning Robert Emery is a multi-skilled pianist, conducting and leader in the field of education. He started playing the piano at the age of seven, studied at the Royal College of Music and has performed all over Europe as a recitalist and conductor.  He is also a teaching descendant of Liszt, Beethoven and Mozart.

Robert started to teach others at the age of twelve.  His style of teaching was similar to how he was taught at professional level.  He quickly realised that progress was slow and the pupils became bored; it was clear that the ‘traditional’ style of teaching was no longer so interesting to the young children of a society of entertainment and technology.

After a ten-year journey of reading over a hundred books and viewing easily the same number of master-classes, the solution was born. It involved not creating a strict method but allowing flexibility.  Not to restrict the teachers from their natural style but allowing them to flourish. The solution was ultimately simple; to split up the lesson into many different segments, spending at most 15 minutes on the instrument at a time.  The MusicHour was born!  It enables children to have fun whilst learning music.  Because each segment is so short, they don’t get bored so easily; this means they learn faster, enjoy more, and gain a deeper understanding.
